Neurofeedback Explained

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG (electroencephalogram) biofeedback, is a therapeutic intervention that provides immediate feedback from a computer-based program that assesses a client’s brainwave activity. The program then uses sound or visual signals to reorganize or retrain these brain signals.

We use Low-Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography (LORETA). 1 to 19 Channel Z Score Neurofeedback. LORETA Z-Score training is the most advanced form of Neurofeedback. It helps regulate the deep structures of the brain and improve connectivity between the brain networks.

Steps in doing neurofeedback:

Assessment/ Intake:

It is a detailed interview with you to collect information, discuss your symptoms, and set treatment goals. In this initial session, a baseline recording of your brainwave function is recorded and analyzed to understand your symptoms and create a customized treatment plan based on your brain map and the result of your collected QEEG. The session takes between 1-2 hours. The cost is $500.

Treatment:

The treatment normally includes 12 sessions and is conducted over 6 weeks, two times per week. A cap with 19 sensors is applied to your head. During training, your brainwaves learn to become balanced and normalized as they are rewarded.

Each session takes 45- 60 minutes and costs $200

Neurofeedback can be combined with individual therapy as well.
